About your visit/FAQ

What are Duke Chiropractic’s office hours?

Duke Chiropractic is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Need directions to our office? Visit our contact page.

How long is an office visit?

Your first visit generally takes about 90 minutes. This time includes consultation, examination and of course, treatment to get you on your way to healing. Follow-up treatments are anywhere between 45 and 60 minutes depending on the complexity of your condition.

Who should I contact about insurance coverage, billing and fees?

Duke Chiropractic accepts most insurance plans. Our insurance department can verify whether your visit would be covered. For questions about insurance, billing or fees, you can email us using the contact form on this page, or call our office at 212-481-0066. If you want the insurance department to qualify your insurance benefits, you can download our insurance qualification form and fax it to us.

Are there forms I should fill out and bring to my appointment?

If you're a new patient, you can download, print and complete our patient intake form and bring it to your first appointment. If you want the insurance department to qualify your insurance benefits, you can download our insurance qualification form and fax it to us.

Is Duke Chiropractic HIPAA-compliant?

Yes, Duke Chiropractic is fully in compliance with HIPAA regulations

I have a herniated disc and was told by my doctor that I will probably need surgery. Why should I come to Duke Chiropractic?

Herniated discs are one of the most common conditions treated in our office. Less than 3% of disc herniations treated in our office will require surgery. We have exceptional rehabilitation outcomes for healing herniated discs and will gladly communicate with your physician throughout the process.

Don’t chiropractors treated only a person’s back?

This is a major misconception. It is quite common for spinal imbalances and poor posture to cause injuries to the hip, knees and shoulders and arms. The doctors at Duke Chiropractic are specially trained to detect and treat these imbalances and at the same time provide treatments to cure tendonitis, bursitis, muscle tears and trigger points. We are full body soft-tissue specialists.

My friend told me that if I went to a chiropractor I would have to go the rest of my life. Is that true?

At Duke Chiropractic, we strive to permanently “fix” the cause of your problems so you will not experience future recurrences. We give you all the necessary tools to self manage, (exercise advice, sleep aids, posture stretches etc.) Our goal is to empower you to stay healthy and, once you're better, you're discharged!

I have already been to several sports medicine doctors and tried physical therapy and I am still not better. How will your office help me?

We feel your frustration. We often see patients who feel failed by other doctors because their condition did not respond to conventional methods. The level of care given by our facility is not seen anywhere else. We find in most chronic cases there is scar tissue buildup that limits joint movement and produces pain. By detecting and treating these pain producing adhesions, relief is immediate and you finally realize you are in the right place.

Can you communicate with my personal trainer? How I should exercise while injured?

All doctors in our office are Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists. We are actively involved in the education of personal trainers around the city. We are happy to contact your trainer and give them an understanding of your condition as well as an exercise prescription that will allow you continue to exercise even while injured.

What if my condition requires surgery?

Although we are able to prevent nearly all of our patients from having surgery, there are certain conditions that will require more invasive treatment. If we find that your particular injury warrants a surgical consult we will refer you to the top specialist for your condition. We have an excellent network of specialists in the New York metropolitan area.
